The Bride Library

First, thank you for being such an awesome client! I’ve created this page to provide a little help to brides to be with their new stationery and the next stages of their wedding planning (what an exciting part of your life this is)!

On this page you’ll find:

  • Recommendations for complimentary services
  • How I can help you in the future

What is each file type for?

Not quite sure what all those file types mean? Which file do you supply a designer or what should you expect to receive from a designer?

JOINT PHOTOGRAPHIC EXPERTS GROUP

Your designer may supply you with a JPG logo to use yourself in publications such as Microsoft Word, on your website or in an email signature. JPG logos can be used in printed documents however if they are stretched past their original size, they will become pixelated.

.pdf

PORTABLE DOCUMENT FORMAT

If this PDF was created in Adobe Illustrator or similar, it will be vector-based* and can be scaled to any size without losing quality. If you are unsure, check with your designer or use online only.

PORTABLE NETWORK GRAPHICS

PNG is the preferred logo format for online applications. The background is transparent, allowing the logo to sit over any background colour, texture or photo. This format is not recommended for print as it will become pixelated if stretched past its original size.

.psd

PHOTOSHOP DATA FILE

Used for editing photos and website based elements, Photoshop is not recommended for logo creation as it is not vector based, meaning it will not reproduce well at larger sizes. This will cause issues for printing large format logos (e.g. signage), and will most likely be a very large, unmanageable ile size.

ENCAPSULATED POSTSCRIPT FILE ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR FILE

These vector-based logo formats* can be scaled to any size without losing quality and have no background element. These iles are ideal for printing at any size.

*Cobba Designs will supply your logo in 4 formats: JPG, PNG, EPS and PDF. We will also provide your logo in reverse version (where possible) so you are able to use it on a darker background. We recommend using the logos ile formats as directed above, and are happy to provide extra formats or sizes as requested at an additional cost, however it is unlikely you will need anything extra.
